How can we help you?

Find answers to the most common questions below. If something isn't covered, email us directly.

The subscription is purchased and installed directly through Adobe Exchange.

  1. Go to RetouchLab on Adobe Exchange and click Install
  2. Restart Photoshop - the plugin appears under Plugins → RetouchLab Skin Pro

If the Install button doesn't work (known Adobe bug):

  1. Open the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app
  2. Go to Stock & Marketplace → Plugins
  3. Search RetouchLab → click Install
  4. Restart Photoshop

The lifetime version is delivered as a .ccx file - check your email or order confirmation page for the download link.

  1. Download the .ccx file from your order confirmation email
  2. Double-click the .ccx file - Adobe Creative Cloud installs it automatically, no manual setup needed
  3. Open Photoshop → Plugins → RetouchLab Skin Pro - the panel appears and you're ready

Requires Photoshop 2022+ (v23.3) · Mac or Windows · Creative Cloud app must be installed

This usually means Photoshop needs a restart, or Creative Cloud needs to sync. Try these steps in order:

  1. Fully close and reopen Photoshop
  2. Check Plugins → RetouchLab Skin Pro in the top menu bar
  3. If still missing - open Creative Cloud, go to Stock & Marketplace → Plugins, find RetouchLab and click Update or Reinstall
  4. Restart Photoshop again

The most common cause: you're painting on the wrong layer. The brush only works on the white mask layer that RetouchLab creates when you click Run Retouch.

  1. Open your photo in Photoshop
  2. Open the plugin: Plugins → RetouchLab Skin Pro
  3. Click Run Retouch - this creates the retouch layer with a black mask
  4. Make sure the mask thumbnail (not the layer thumbnail) is selected in the Layers panel
  5. Paint white over the skin areas you want retouched

The plugin will only retouch where you paint white. If there is no mask selected, the brush has no effect.

You can cancel anytime - no fees, no questions asked.

  1. Check the email you used to purchase - Adobe sends a subscription confirmation with a Manage Subscription link
  2. Click that link and select Cancel

After cancelling you keep access until the end of your current billing period.

This applies to the subscription only - the subscription is tied to your Adobe account, so it must be purchased on the same account your Photoshop is linked to. The lifetime version comes as a .ccx file installed directly on your computer, so it's not account-dependent.

How to check which account your Photoshop uses:

  1. Open Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app
  2. Click your profile icon (top right) - it shows your active account email
  3. That's the account you need to subscribe on

If you already subscribed on the wrong account:

  1. Contact your bank or card provider and request a chargeback - Adobe does not process refunds directly, but your bank will refund it to your card 100%
  2. Then go to Adobe Exchange and subscribe again while logged into the correct account
